FOUNDATION AVA

The Albert van Abbehuis has been managed by many different parties in the nearly 70 years since it was donated to the municipality of Eindhoven.  In 2020, it looked like the house would be sold.  Against expectations, in May 2021, the Eindhoven City Council decided that the house should not be sold and should remain available for cultural purposes.  Meanwhile, the Multi-Art-Disc (MAD) Foundation, which had taken charge of programming for the last few years, had already decided not to continue organising cultural activities in the house.  In May 2021, four individuals (Tom Veeger, Rene Pare, Eva vd Moer and Rob Verhaar) set up Stichting AVA with the aim of fulfilling the donor's wish; to stimulate, organise and operate cultural activities with the aim of contributing to the cultural climate in Southeast Brabant.

As of 1 September 2021, Stichting Cultuur Eindhoven granted the first subsidy to the AVA foundation, making a relaunch financially possible. Not much later, we also received a grant from the province of North Brabant.
